FInals

My render came out like i wanted my model to. I decided not to have the wooden background because in my render i wanted to have a more reflective background and the wood also didnt work well with the light.

When putting my model together the top circle snapped and i couldn't use it so i had to make it without it. I still think that it came out really good. A bit of the middle ring also snaped so when i took the photo i took it away from the crack.
I like my photo because there is a gradient to the light and the model also reflects off the bottom which i think it really cool
Here are my 2 Finals.

To get over that problem i just expanded the board so when i zoomed in on my model so there wasn't that problem that i had before

In our last tutorial we were shown how to make a more realistic look to our model. We were shown how to somewhat copy the boards in the photography studios.
I decided to make the board to have a wooden look. When i rendered my model i found out that there were like patches of wood and you could see the lines between the patches and it looked weird when close up

I think the copper colour for the ball looks good because it stands out in my render. As you can kind of see the colour of the ball is being reflected of the sides and the circles. I really like how it does that and that is what i am trying to do for my final render

This is how my render came out. I like how it looks. Im trying to get a glass look to my model and have something in the middle to kind of radiate like a light bulb

When finding a good way to present my model i first decided to just have it on a plane and have boxes surrounding it with lights also shinning onto the the model

Next i decided to do the 2 circles. I did these before the sides just in case they didn't fit with each other. The middle one didn't fit properly so i did have to expand it so that it would fit

I started with the base and then have the sides. On the base i put the engravings on them but when they were rendered you couldn't see it that well. Because of this i decided not to put the engravings on each of the 4 sides

I decided to do my final render on 3DS max. Because i thought it was to hard to make some of the shapes of 3DS max i decided to first make each part in solid works and then transfer the part to solid works. I did this for all of the parts for my model.

Solid works

Putting them together on 3DS max was kind of like how i put them together in real life after they were cut

Before exporting my parts into 3DS max i made all of them on solid works. I did this because it was easier to make all the parts on there and then bring them to 3DS max to do the final render.

This is the file i sent in to be cut. In the end i decided to make holes in the top and middle circles and also so i could have a 3D ball hanging in the middle of if. I also put some engravings on the base which goes with the engravings on the side pieces

There was luckily enough roon on a A4 file to fit it all. and will room to spare

For the sides of my model i found out it was quite hard to do on illustrator. So what i did was that i drew it up on solid works and got a 2D version of one of the sides
I started my illustrator file by doing the 3 circles. It wasnt as hard as i thought it would have been to get the holes in them. but lining them up was the hardest part of it

sketch models

I really like having the circle in the middle instead of the star because so far in my models its all circles and with the star which has straight lines it doesn't look right when its with all the curves and circles already in my model.

I have 2 ideas for what i am going to use as my 'bulb'
I really want to have something in the center of my model. Bring my models back to my precedent images, I think that my model looks like a lamp and i want to have something which would in a way light up my model like a light bulb.

I really like the holes in this mock up. I think it shows the scenes of depth to it.
I think that with having the solid circles that you couldn't see it all from one view because things were blocking your view but this lets you see it all.

I wanted to expand on my last 2 models and try and make it look even better than the second one. For my third i decided to cut holes in the top and middle circle you that you can see through them.

I like the look of it and i think the circles are the right sizes for this model.

My second mock up is like the first one but the sides are the other way around. It is pretty much the opposite of my previous one and the drawing.

When making my mock up of my first drawing i didn't like the look of it. It was to cramped in the middle  and the circle at the top didn't look right. There wasn't even any room to have the smaller circle in the middle.

My first sketch model is like my drawing which i did before

I have done several sketch models showing possible things i want in my final design.
